Of all the waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge, this was the one I had my heart on photographing. It has to be one of the most picturesque waterfalls in North America.
The waterfall itself plunges 36 feet and is part of Eagle Creek. The hike is about 4kms and can be challenging if you’re not good with heights, which I’m not! You can’t see the waterfall from the trail and have to wade out into the river to see it. Fortunately, I had my chest-waders as the water from the spring run-off was icy cold. On top of that, it was raining which added very much to the ‘atmosphere’ of this image. Other than the tree that fell off the mountain, this was exactly what I wished for.
